PROJECT SUMMARY:

Crypto Sapiens is a leading operational podcast project of BanklessDAO, hosted by Humpty Calderon. It is a growing podcast in the network of web3 podcasts recorded weekly and distributed across all major media platforms including YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Google Podcasts. Crypto Sapiens plays an essential role in supporting the Bankless mission by developing educational content that expands people’s understanding of the web3 ecosystem, including decentralized technologies and cryptocurrencies. We curate thoughtful and accessible discussions between crypto pioneers and crypto curious individuals with the aim of helping everyone gain the understanding they need to become crypto natives and find their niche within the space.

Our Podcast:

Crypto Sapiens flagship podcast features meaningful conversations with the founders and core-contributors of innovative projects that are community-aligned. Recent guests on the show include thought leaders from projects such as Gitcoin, Aragon, DAOpunks, and TalentDAO.

Podcast mini-series:

  • Web3ID features discussions with key builders from Gitcoin, BrightID, DAOHaus, OrangeProtocol and more to demystify the emerging topic of self-sovereign identity. We explore the value of owning your digital identity across DeFi, public goods, and DAOs.
  • DeScientralized explores the social layer of decentralized science with “experiment” style panel discussions and “theses” style deep-dives with guests from projects such as VitaDAO, molecule, PsyDAO, DeSci World, Ocean Protocol and more!

MISSION & VALUES ALIGNMENT

Crypto Sapiens is composed of banklessDAO members who come together collaboratively to contribute their skills to host and produce podcasts and maintain all aspects of the Crypto Sapiens Project. We focus on the creation of podcasts that strive to reach the goal of helping people go “Bankless” by understanding web3, decentralized money systems, and the decentralized world.

Crypto Sapiens supports the positioning of Bankless DAO as the foremost destination for media and education. Crypto Sapiens has mobilized many talented Bankless DAO members to contribute to the development of its media productions. Crypto Sapiens is developed in partnership with Bankless DAO. Crypto Sapiens includes content about Bankless DAO across its communication and promotional materials whenever possible. Crypto Sapiens consistently fosters the transition from DAO visitors to active DAO contributors. We see ourselves as a springboard for Bankless DAO members to become fulfilled, active members of the DAO. We have a long list of success stories from Crypto Sapiens contributors becoming L1 members of Bankless DAO because of their contributions to our project.

Budget

Season 5

Season 5, we extensively remodeled our budget focusing on allocation directionally proportional to contributor remuneration, based on the standard rate set by banklessDAO of 1,000 BANK/hr.

Crypto Sapiens intends to help people transition from DAO visitors to active DAO contributors. We see ourselves as a springboard for Bankless DAO members to become fulfilled, active members of the DAO. We have a long list of success stories from Crypto Sapiens contributors becoming L1 members of Bankless DAO because of their contributions to our project.

Season 6

We will implement the new budget and budgeting system. Having a talented and dedicated team of contributors, we are now ready to improve and develop new ways that will guide us in becoming a self-sustaining project. Season 6, we will focus on increasing sponsorships and collaborations with other value aligned communities. Another focus area will be evaluating and implementing ways to monetize our previous content.

Proposals need Polls? I am surprised after a year there is no revenue and no crowdfunding.

Thank you @ernest_of_gaia. I am happy to discuss both of your points.
-Polls are for new projects seeking initial funding, not for projects that have passed quorum and received seasonal project funding. As there are no clear guidelines in the community handbook that clearly define the process followed by the grants committee for seasonally funded projects, we do not require a poll.
-You may have missed these accomplishments for Season 5

I have been with this project from the start and it has helped me to grow in technical skills and narrow my focus as to what I specifically want to do in the web3 space. This project has brought much needed attention and clarity to many people and projects in the web3 space, therefore encouraging and empowering those people to move forward with their projects and missions. As a result, this has helped to move the web3 space as a whole forward during this bear market. It has not been easy, but It has been an absolute pleasure to be on the ground floor of this endeavor.

I also would like to add that not all value is direct revenue-generating value. There has been great value in the project as being a place where many people in the DAO have plugged in and been able to contribute in a meaningful way. Crypto Sapiens has also been a conduit of attention from the outside world towards the DAO. The fruits of the non-revenue generating value are starting to show as seen in the bullet points listed above. I also may add in a new collaboration with JournoDAO for a new miniseries covering web3 in journalism.

This is so true @EurekaJohn Thank you for pointing this out!

By definition a proposal has an ask, answered through polls. If you have proposal in your title and if it is a request for funding it needs a poll. If it doesnt need a poll it does not need proposal in the title

Thank you @ernest_of_gaia

very nice to see you scoring sponsorships, hope you will get much more in the coming season.

are we going to have a chance to vote on the proposal?

Hi @raybankless.eth! Thank you! Absolutely! The goal is to get more sponsors! Actually, since the last time that you came by, we have gotten 2 and the collab with panvala stamps BIG THINGS!!
In regards to voting, I respectfully maintain; Polls are for new projects seeking initial funding, not for projects that have passed quorum and received seasonal project funding. As there are no clear guidelines in the community handbook that clearly define the process followed by the grants committee for seasonally funded projects, we do not require a poll.

yeah, same convo was in the academy proposal. i did not know that. thanks.
