bDAO @ Global Crypto Events S6 Proposal

author: jengajojo

In S5, the Media partnerships with Global Crypto Events team was asked to deliver partnerships with 5 events. The team went beyond this initial mandate to deliver partnerships with 8 events in the same budget. The highlights are:

  1. Delivered partnerships with 5 events: ETH Mexico, ETH Latam, ETH Safari, MCON, Woo Network
  2. Partnerships with ETHLisbon, IbizaNXT and FintechNexus are inprogress and will be delivered in October.
  3. S6 partnerships scheduled with Istanbul Blockchain week, ETH India and Ghana Crypto & DeFi Summit

In order to continue collaboration with Global Crypto Events, the team asks for ‘590,000’ BANK in S6.

S5 Achievements and highlights

  • Offered membership perks in the form of 21 tickets to L1 bDAO members, thus increasing the utility of holding BANK
  • Uploaded 17 videos on bDAO YT channel since inception, which have gathered a total of 1230 views so far. Check out the playlist here
  • Partnered with various likeminded orgs to deliver side events at ETH Latam, ETH Mexico, and MCON
  • Collected over 50 leads for bDAO products and services
  • Held panel discussions at ETH Safari and scheduled another one for IbizaNXT

By being present in global events which are aligned to the Bankless values, we have the opportunity to reach a wider audience and showcase the fantastic work which is being done by talented contributors at crypto conferences.

Being present in conferences and events all around the world will help us to

  1. Make the Bankless movement reach new markets where people don’t know about our digital content products
  2. Engage members in different parts of the world to come together and feel the community vibes
  3. Increase utility for the BANK token by giving backstage and general event access to BANK Hodlers
  4. Increase visibility & revenue for bDAO via onsite merch sales and giveaways
  5. Opportunity to connect with other likeminded projects and gather leads for bDAO products and services
  6. Generate social media content, interviews, and event recaps that will increase traffic to BanklessDAO media channels
  7. Create new sponsorship opportunities for BanklessDAO partners

Partnership structure:

We will propose the following partnership structure to each event. The actually final version of the partnership might vary depending on the realities of the actual event

Bankless DAO offers:

  1. A 100 word write up in the Weekly Rollup newsletter about the event 1 month prior to the event
  2. A 250 word write up in the Weekly Rollup newsletter summarising the event, posted latest 1 week after the event
  3. Five posts on BanklessDAO social pages as well as a translated version of the same info on the social pages of the International Media Node(s) relevant to the location of the event. The posts will be made 1 each week for 5 weeks in a row leading up to the event.
  4. Retweet up to 5 posts from the event organizer, with max 1 retweet per week for 5 consecutive weeks leading up to the event
  5. A shout out for the event in BanklessDAO Community Call (internal weekly meeting), as well as the relevant IMN CC
  6. At least 1 person from bDAO who films key highlights and interviews relevant participants
  7. A crew which posts YouTube shorts (30-60 seconds long) and a 1 min recap of the event on the bDAO YT channel. Depending on the availability of funds, contributors and speakers, we will also produce 2-5 min interviews.

In return BanklessDAO asks the event organizers for:

  • At least 5 backstage/Media passes for the entire event
  • Have BanklessDAO listed as an official media partner for the event
  • Tweet about this partnership in the official twitter channel of the event
  • To offer 5 normal tickets - 3 for chosen BanklessDAO members and 2 which can be used as giveaways via social media
  • Reserve a 30 min slot for a speaker from BanklessDAO
  • Send the exact text and image which should be tweeted out

In order to successfully deliver this initiative on a regular basis, we propose to establish a squad who governs partnerships between each event and bDAO. The main goal of this squad is:

  1. Coordinate activities between various guilds/projects and the event in order to deliver a streamlined experience to our partners and contributors
  2. Curate a list of contributors who can be responsible for
    1. covering the event from a media angle
    2. network with folks to collect leads for bDAO products and services
    3. generate sponsorships for on-site teams to become self-sovereign in the future

Squad Roles

Project Manager/Champion

  • Responsible for end-to-end execution of the action items in this proposal.
  • Works with the squad for each event to make sure activities are progressing smoothly and in a timely manner

  • Assures all events are marketed appropriately.

The budget for each event and the number of people attending each event should adapt to the event reach (footfall) and contributor availability. We suggest the following matrix for this allocation:

We propose that contributors are remunerated in a performance based unlock where upon funds are disbursed on completion of certain predefined conditions for each event.

  1. Before the event

  2. 2500 BANK/event for the relevant IMN to translate social media posts from banklessdao and post on their own social media, paid after all posts are shared and a shout out to the event is delivered on the CC BANK to print relevant merch for the event

  3. After the event

All on-site and off-site roles are paid when

  1. At least 10 Leads from each event are uploaded in the DAOlationships CRM

  2. All AV content is uploaded on YT

  3. All text content is published on twitter & weekly rollup.

In order to execute payments, the partnership manager sends a CSV file to the multi-sig upon delivery of above items. The payment for roles is divided into fixed share and variable share.

Fixed Share

10% allocation to the Project Manager

5% allocation to the Marketing Coordinator

10% allocation to the Partnership Manager

5% allocation to the AV coordinator

The Partnership Manager, decides the allocation of the rest of the budget between the on-site team, reimbursements and other related expenses for each event

Payment Policy:* All expenses for any event are paid with a single transaction at the end of the event.

Budget for S6:*

3 High profile events: 100,000 BANK x 3 = 300,000 BANK
5 Medium profile events: 50000 BANK x 5 = 250,000 BANK

7 Smaller events: 20000 BANK x 7 = 140,000 BANK

Total Ask for S6 = 590,000 BANK

#number of tickets given out as membership perks to L1 members

#total revenue generated for bDAO products and services

Fund Global Crypto Events team with 590,000 BANK for S6

  • Yay! Let’s do this
  • Nay! The proposal needs more restructuring

Fantastic contribution to bDAO growth possibilities. Nothing like the human contact URL events to spread the mission, vision and expose folks to the values in this community of goodness. Yes, I am concerned about the burn rate but investing in advertising and marketing in event attendance is critical to our continued growth and contributor retention. The possibility of revenue being generated is an additional benefit as well. Nice, well written and laid out proposal. LFG
