Apologies for the delay in publishing the second draft. I’ve modified the timeline to reflect the delay. No meaningful changes as we accounted for some flexibility here.

SUMMARY

  • Season 3 will start on Monday, January 10th, 2021
  • Season 3 will end on Friday, April 8th, 2021
  • BanklessDAO will hold a formal gap week between April 9th and April 15th.
  • Season 3 will not include a cap on Project and Guild funding, though the Grants Committee will review budgets and provide suggestions to minimize budget bloat
  • 11M $BANK allocated for Grants Committee. 7M for inter-season funding and 4M for contributor rewards
  • Grants Committee compensation: 350K BANK
  • Ombuds Compensation: 222,000 BANK

:warning: A note on Gap Weeks :warning:

In the first draft, there was discussion around introducing a gap week at the beginning of Season 3, however voter turnout was not sufficient to demonstrate DAO-wide support. Furthermore, the original Gap Week forum post has had significant discussion around how to implement a gap week, in that some roles will still need to be staffed (namely Ops and Community Management - Eg. We still need to ban scammers, even if the rest of the DAO is taking time off.)

As such, I think we have time during Season 3 to figure out what a gap week would look like and what responsibilities we, as a DAO, still have to take care of in time for the Gap Week between Season 3 and Season 4.

Yea I think there are financial implications to a gap week that need to be iron out and that was part of the discussion.

What is clear is that a gap week is desired almost unanimously.

What isn’t clear is how roles will and won’t be compensated during that time of non-work, and any implications that may have upon the funding of them by projects or otherwise.
