SUMMARY

  • Season 3 will start on January 8th, 2021
  • Season 3 will end on April 8th, 2021
  • BanklessDAO will hold a formal gap week between April 9th and April 15th.
  • Season 3 will not include a cap on Project and Guild funding, though the Grants Committee will review budgets and provide suggestions to minimize budget bloat
  • 11M $BANK allocated for Grants Committee. 7M for inter-season funding and 4M for contributor rewards

It’s odd to me to have the season begin on a Saturday; it might make more sense if we started seasons on Mondays and ended them on Fridays, omitting weekend time entirely. (special Monday kickoff event?)

I’d also push to include a gap week here at the end of S2 (or beginning of S3, however we’d like to frame it).

This moves dates to be:

Begin S3: Jan 17 (Mon)
End S3: April 8 (Fri)

Begin S4: April 18 (Mon)

Are we beholden to a previous snapshot wrt S3 start date?

Start date on Monday makes sense.

I’d push back on S2 gap week because the holidays act as a gap week already. There’s a poll up to have informal CCs on the 24th and 31st and I suspect people will be out celebrating with family during those two weeks. Personally, I’m on vacation from the 21st to the 27th.

Yes Frogmonkee, do not start vacation tomorrow without adding ombudsman’s budget request for Season 3. Gentle and hopeful reminder for you also to have a wonderful holiday.

I’d like to see more explanation on what a “flexible budget” is. Does that mean guilds can go back to GC mid-season and ask for more money?

Also, Is there a minimum BANK requirement that a project must surpass before receiving funds from the Grants Committee? A hypothetical example is, “The GC will only fund projects asking for 50K and above”. A few members thought that was the case which led to a lot of confusion and scrambling. Can you please confirm if this is true or not? One could assume based on “flexible budgets”, that is not true…but I dont want to assume anything.

There are no minimum ask for the GC.
Also if funds are needed mid season guilds can ask the GC.
