Authors : paulšŸ“#1559, gioseršŸ“#6032

The major goals that the Translators guild set for season 4 were
#1 to onboard more members to the guild
#2 increasing the number of opportunities to contribute for guild members,
#3 further improve guild operations through micro roles and bounties,
#4 strengthening relationships between guilds to make BanklessDAO content available to more languages,
#5 initiate new projects that will generate also generate revenue for BanklessDAO and
#6 create a workflow to receive translations from externals so that we can offer Translation Services as a guild for bDAO itself, other bDAO projects and external clients.

4 out of 6 goals were achieved:

#1 onboard more members to the guild

Major focus was given on onboarding new members to the Translatorā€™s Guild.Weekly onboarding sessions were utilized to improve onboarding and an onboarding handbook as well as an onboarding presentation for newcomers were created. Miro was also utilized to visualize the onboarding process and an onboarding POAP was introduced to reward new members in a Web3 native way and document the onboarding process.

Appr. 12 members were onboarded in Season 4 in a bear market environment on which weā€™re really proud of.

#2 increasing the number of opportunities to contribute for guild members

This season we utilized Dework for bounty distribution appr. 40 bounties that both helped members to contribute while also spreading the Bankless mission and values. A specific topic was polled on a weekly basis after which 4 to 6 bounties could be claimed where Twitter threads have been translated into various languages and dialects.

#3 further improve guild operations through micro roles and bounties

We continued to use micro roles to both introduce guild members to role holder duties as well as working on specific needs of the guild in an effective way. This season we used micro roles for the POAPs manager, Bounty manager and Onboarding/Governance manager.

#4 strengthening relationships between guilds to make BanklessDAO content available to more languages

While we had input and discussions with members from other guilds those efforts did not go beyond the ideation phase and it is something that will need to be pursued in Season 5.

#5 initiate new projects that will also generate revenue for BanklessDAO

The biggest project this season was the Glossary project that is working on curating an extensive Web3 term glossary into various languages. The team is currently working on a funding proposal for the Grants Committee and aims to create a product that can be distributed in the Web3 space to generate revenue for BanklessDAO.

Another project in an early stage that ultimately aims for revenue is the Coordinape Translation workgroup - looking to create tutorials on how to use Coordinape in various languages.

DAOlators that is offering translations to other DAOs and Web3 companies is currently on hold due to the difficult, bear, market conditions.

#6 create a workflow to receive translations from externals so that we can offer Translation Services as a guild for bDAO itself, other bDAO projects and external clients

DAOlators worked on this idea and had its first client already. When market conditions improve the project intends to continue its operations.
